If U Care, Share

This week is Children’s Mental Health Week and our school assembly went through what mental health is – our feelings, thoughts and emotions – and how it’s possible to have good or bad mental health in a similar way to our physical health.

We have feelings, thoughts and emotions all the time. However, sometimes we may feel something and don’t know why – it is at this stage that it’s good to tell someone about how you are feeling.

Getting support involves:

  • Telling someone how you feel
  • They will listen to you
  • They can help you to get support

It’s important to find a trusted adult that children can discuss things with. To help our wellbeing we can

  • Keep active
  • Give others our attention
  • Communicate with others
  • Keep learning
  • Take notice of our surroundings and others

Key message is: It’s ok not to feel ok and you always have someone you can talk to!
