Our Cultural Passport was created by staff in school to recognise and celebrate children’s achievements as they journey through Red Rose Primary School. The passport is broken down under the headings of our school values. Under each value, we have created a list of achievements which we aim to cover in school as your child completes their Red Rose journey from EYFS to Y6.
The aim of the passport is for pupils to participate in a range of activities linked to each of our school values which will enrich their lives and create great memories, whilst recognising more than just academic achievement. We have created activities to help to build character by encouraging our children to take on challenges and pursue more than just their interests. The list of activities cover all year groups so we do not expect children to complete the list until the end of Year 6. The ‘Cultural Passport’ will follow your child’s journey through our school culminating in a ‘Record of Achievement’ which will be presented to your child when they leave Red Rose.
Rather than the passport being just a list of dates, we are issuing each child with a scrap book to collate all of their evidence, e.g. a theatre ticket, a photograph, a certificate, a star in the rocket, a leaflet from a visit etc. Children will be responsible for adding evidence to their personal scrapbook. We hope this will be a wonderful memory book to treasure in later years. Scrapbooks and passports will remain in school until the end of Y6.
We would like to encourage a home/school partnership in supporting the completion of the passport and have a section in the passport which allows all activities to also be completed at home.
