We are incredibly proud of the children’s perseverance at Forest School. They showed fantastic determination while learning how to use a flint and steel to create an initial spark. This activity required patience, focus and resilience, and the children did not give up even when it took several attempts. It was wonderful to see their excitement and sense of achievement when they successfully created a spark!
The children have also been developing their fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination by using hammers to carefully tap pins into a log slice, creating a beautiful heart design. They demonstrated great concentration and awareness of safety while using real tools.
