This week, we welcomed Year One parents and carers to a Phonics and Reading Meeting to share information about how we teach phonics and reading in school. During the session, staff explained our approach to phonics, including the structure of our daily lessons, the key sounds children learn, and how phonics supports early reading and writing skills. Parents then had the opportunity to observe a live phonics lesson in action, watching our children engage enthusiastically with their learning. It was a fantastic chance for families to see the strategies we use and gain practical tips to use at home!
