Today, in our assembly, we celebrated World Religion Day. Rev Dave Edmondson visited us with a discussion encouraging us to be respectful of other people’s beliefs. People throughout the world believe in different religions and with those religions come traditions that are important to understand and respect. Rev Dave talked about when his friends, who follow different religions, visit his house for a meal, he is careful to understand what food is ok to serve. Different religions have different attitudes towards foods and he is always careful that his meals don’t offend them. In school, our RE curriculum discusses the beliefs and traditions of some of the main religions across the world. The pupils showed excellent knowledge of the different religions. Rev Dave left us with a question of ‘What is precious to you?’
