It’s been a busy few weeks at Red Rose …
Our School Council have once again helped to organise and collect festively wrapped boxes of gifts for disadvantaged people for the Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal. 33 wrapped gift boxes were collected this morning ready to be passed on to those in need. Thank you to all that were able to contribute.
Year 3 and 4 took part, with their adults, in Cultural Passport sessions this week, with activities including looking after our wll being, learning about making emergency calls and a great forest school session.
We are thrilled to announce that Red Rose Primary School has officially contributed to a successful record-breaking event! Together with readers around the globe, we have officially set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most people reading online in 12 hours during the Take 10 to Read event.
Thank you to all our pupils and staff who took part and helped make this incredible achievement possible.
Highlights of the achievement:
– 153,862 participants took part across 92 countries and territories.
– More than 3,000 schools, libraries, businesses, community groups, and other settings got involved.
– Participants spent hundreds of thousands of minutes reading across all formats, including books, comics, and audiobooks.
A busy few weeks alongside our normal curriculum lessons. Good efforts to everyone.
