As part of our celebrations for National Libraries Week, Key Stage One pupils enjoyed exciting trips to Chester-le-Street Library this week.
The visits were packed with fun and learning as the children took part in a range of activities themed around the local history of mining. One of the highlights of the trip was a special story-sharing session, where children listened to ‘Town is by the Sea’. The children even made their own mining banner, featuring places that are special to them, such as Lumley Castle, Chester-le-Street Viaduct and Red Rose Primary School! A huge thank you to the staff at Chester-le-Street Library for such a warm welcome, and a big well done to our wonderful KS1 pupils for being such enthusiastic learners!
