Last night, we had the pleasure of enjoying our Christmas Concert at St. Mary and St. Cuthbert’s Church, beautifully performed by our Key Stage 2 pupils. The theme for the evening was Christmas Traditions, offering a delightful journey through the origins of many cherished customs.
The evening explored the history behind traditions such as Christmas trees, decorations, Advent candles and calendars, Nativity performances, presents, cards, and carols. The pupils captivated us with renditions of Christmas carols and songs, including Silent Night, Away in a Manger, Mary Had a Baby, and The Twelve Days of Christmas. A special surprise came in the form of a live chicken.
A highlight of the evening was a charming clip from A Charlie Brown Christmas, where Linus shares the True Meaning of Christmas. Despite being 60 years old, this beloved film continues to inspire with its timeless message about the heart of the Christmas message.
It was a lovely evening filled with joy, tradition, and the spirit of Christmas.
