Our Year 1 and Year 2 pupils enjoyed a fantastic workshop inspired by the renowned North East ‘pitman painter,’ Norman Cornish. As part of our learning about local history and mining, the children closely examined Cornish’s artwork before looking at historical artefacts. We then became artists, using bold colours to create our own mining-inspired paintings on canvas. Well done Key Stage One!
