Harvest Celebrations

Harvest being celebrated in Chester-le-Street school

This week, our school community came together to celebrate Harvest in a joyous and meaningful way. On Wednesday, Key Stage 2 pupils took the lead in a special service at our local church, St Mary and St Cuthbert’s, sharing the spirit of gratitude and community. Key Stage 1 pupils are running their celebration on Thursday morning.

The services were filled with music, including songs like Let’s Harvest and Harvest Rock and Roll,  as well as a new song In the Autumn. The children’s enthusiasm and creativity shone through in their performances, setting a warm and uplifting tone for the event.

Beyond the music, the pupils delivered heartfelt reflections on the meaning of Harvest. They highlighted the importance of giving thanks for the blessings in our lives and shared insights into the two organizations we are supporting this year: The People’s Kitchen and Durham Christian Partnership.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their inputs this week that they all brought to these services.

Thank you to St Cuthbert and St Mary’s church for hosting the event and to all who donated items towards the running of the two charities.
