On Tuesday, Year 5 took a trip to Jarrow Hall as part of their unit on the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings in History. The day was filled with engaging Viking-themed activities, including learning about Vikings as raiders and traders, exploring their weapons and everyday tools, and visiting a replica Viking farm complete with real animals. The children discovered how these animals were used for food, clothing, and work on the farm. They also visited a replica Viking village, where they learnt about Viking crafts, housing, and daily life, gaining a real insight into what life was like over a thousand years ago. It was a fascinating and hands-on experience that really brought their History learning to life!
