This week, Year Two has been well and truly transported to the heart of the capital city! We have been immersing ourselves in the sights and sounds of the city through our current English text, ‘A Walk in London’. It’s been wonderful to see the children engaging so deeply with the story, and they are currently hard at work curating some fantastic travel brochures. The learning didn’t stop at the page today. Following our Geography lesson all about London landmarks, our construction area was transformed into a bustling architectural firm!
The children worked hard to design, build, and evaluate their own versions of iconic London landmarks. It was impressive to see them navigating the challenges of construction, refining their designs, and critically evaluating their work to make sure their structures were sturdy enough to stand tall. We might just have a few future skyline-shapers in our midst!
We can’t wait to see the finished brochures and showcase the children’s hard work. Keep up the amazing effort, Year Two!
