Edward Lear inspired work

Year Two has been bustling with creativity throughout January! We have been working hard in our writing lessons, using Edward Lear’s classic poem, The Owl and the Pussycat, as our inspiration.

The children have really impressed us with their developing literary skills, including use of expanded noun phrases, imperative verbs, contractions and more! Children worked hard to write their own version of The Owl and the Pussycat, using aspirational adjectives to make their writing sparkle.

The learning didn’t stop in our books! The classroom has been a hive of activity with poem-linked challenges, including beautiful art projects, construction tasks (building the pea-green boat), and independent free writing.

Well done, Year Two, for your wonderful creativity!
